Domestic Steel pipe mills have announced that due to the cost and availability of raw materials, they will be implementing the following cost increases:
- 1/2” – 4” Continuous Weld Pipe (Surethread) – 5%
- 2” – 18” Grade B ERW Pipe – 5%
- 1” – 8” Sprinkler Pipe – 5%
We will move to a new list price sheet on Monday, August 31st. Please call your Merfish United representative to place orders at current pricing levels through close-of-business on Friday, 8/28 by 5pm local time.
Over the past months, we’ve seen Covid-related interruptions with Copper and PVC pipe. Mines and resin manufacturers have had to stop production because of outbreaks and safety procedures, which limited supply for pipe manufacturers to produce material just as demand was growing with the re-opening across the country. Now, it’s happening with steel. With demand high, but shortages of raw materials coupled with rising cost of hot roll coil, it is anticipated that the Steel Pipe supply may get much tighter.
