PVC pipe mills have announced that due to increasing costs of PVC resin and freight, they will be implementing an increase of 5%. We will hold current price levels through close-of-business on Friday, 4/8 and move to a new list price sheet on Monday, 4/11.
PVC resin, the raw material needed for PVC pipe, continues to become more in demand and limited in supply as petrochemicals and natural gas, essential for production, become strained due to sanctions on Russia, where a significant amount of the world supply originates. As resin manufacturers abroad fall behind, they are looking to the US and other sources for fill-ins, resulting in cost increases.
