PVC Pipe Increase Effective Now

A new list price sheet for PVC Pipe is now in effect.

As a result of the impact of Winter Storm Uri on the Gulf Coast, where most of the country’s petrochemical infrastructure is located, PVC resin manufacturers continue to try to restore their operations and production to normal levels. Even today, three out of four major resin producers are operating under force majeure, resulting in allocations and limits on all new orders, with some older orders having been canceled altogether.

As a result of this lack of raw material, PVC pipe mills have been unable to keep up with rising demand, resulting in finished goods prices continuing to increase, while production levels falter. A robust housing market, along with the Covid-19 recovery will likely see sustained demand well into the future. In addition to PVC resin being in short supply, so is ABS compound, which is critical to the manufacturing and supply of ABS pipe.

Consequently, PVC pipe mills announced a price increase yesterday which we are implementing now, along with a new list price sheet dated 3/29 that is available on our website. Please call your Merfish United representative for more information or to place orders now.
